Tacloban Business News – The Department of Trade and Industry Region 8 conducts a Screening, Assessment and Triage (SAT) Sessions at the DTI 8 Conference Room.
About 95 MSMEs brought their products to participate in the two-day activity.
The said activity is part of the screening process for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to qualify in the two major programs of the Department namely, One Town One Product Next Generation (OTOP Next GEN) and Go Lokal.
OTOP Next GEN offers a comprehensive assistance package to empower MSMEs through product development, online marketing, standard compliance, and trainings. With the expansion and improvement of OTOP, it will inspire the creation of a high quality, green and responsive Eastern Visayas product brands.
Hand in hand, the Go Lokal provides free premium space in partner malls, theme parks, other tourist and buyer-frequented places for high quality local products.
In this event, the Intellectual Property Satellite Office of Tacloban has also set up a table where producers can inquire and consult about the registration of their product brands. MSMEs are encouraged to register their brands given that a recognizable name can contribute high yields of profit.
Conducting such, the Department continues to be the main economic catalyst that enables innovative, competitive, job generating, inclusive business in the region and beyond.
