ORMOC NEWS — Pupils of Tongonan Elementary School delivered a dance number as part of the dengue awareness campaign of Save the Children. Wearing Filipiniana attire, the students’ performance was their entry to the contest mounted by the non-government organization to fight Dengue fever.
Some 83 elementary schools in Ormoc were invited to join the dance contest to the tune of a four-minute jingle of Save the Children. There is also a poster-making contest joined featuring entries from the same schools depicting the campaign theme “Kampanya ng Kabataan Laban sa Dengue.”
Since the contest began last Aug. 18, evaluators from Save the Children go to the participating schools to record the performances on video and gather entries for the poster-making contest.
The entries will be judged beginning Sept. 11 wherein eight entries from each category will be selected. The final winners will be announced on Sept. 17. Winners will be announced on Sept. 17.
