Baybay News – To help Baybay City ‘build back better’, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas recently handed P20 Million of the department’s Recovery Assistance on Yolanda (RAY) fund to Mayor Carmen Cari with barangay captains of areas damaged by super typhoon Yolanda.
Roxas said the fund is for the construction of eight more civic centres located within barangays in Baybay.
Roxas announced that P449 million has also been allocated to benefit Leyte province under the second phase of RAY for the rehabilitation of other barangay facilities.
Leyte governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla expressed his gratitude to the secretary for helping Yolanda victims.
Roxas is confident that all LGU operations and services will normalize once all RAY projects are completed.
The RAY fund aims to return normalcy to the lives of those affected by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013 by rebuilding crucial government facilities that deliver basic goods and services. Under President Aquino’s Daang Matuwid, RAY is distributed to all affected localities, regardless of political affiliation.
