DTI 8 Bahandi Regional Trade Fair 2015: 44 Leyte Producers represents 47% of participants

Leyte Business News – A five-day Bahandi Regional Trade Fair will be conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry Region VIII, led by DTI 8 Regional Director Cynthia R. Nierras this coming September 2 to 6, 2015 at the Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

This event will showcase the region’s products, including processed food items such as the famed chocolate moron, suman, bokayo, binagol, gifts decors and handicraft furniture and furnishings, fashion accessories, as well as the region’s tourism destinations.

Forty-four (44) producers and exhibitors from the different municipalities of the Leyte Province will be participating in this Mega Trade Fair, through the facilitation of DTI Leyte Provincial Office, headed by Provincial Director Desiderio P. Belas, Jr. This comprises the biggest delegation with forty-seven (47) percent of the total number of Bahandi exhibitors for this year. Twenty-four of the exhibitors from Leyte belong to the food processing sector, seven belong to fashion accessories & bag-making, seven from gifts, decors & housewares (GDH), four exhibitors are in support to tourism and one coming from the furniture industry.

The Regional Development Council (RDC) of Region VIII has endorsed the Bahandi Regional Trade Fair 2015 as an RDC-8 activity through its RDC Resolution No. 2, series of 2015. This event is also supported by the member-agencies of the region’s Economic Development Council.

Among the Leyte producers and exhibitors are Taps Handmade Products from Tanauan, Leyte, Naty’s Antique Furniture and Lolo Bobby’s Handicrafts from Bato, Leyte, DJ Crater Incorporated and Rainbow Ticog Industry of Tacloban City, Clairs Enterprises, Baybay Food Processors from Baybay City, Javier Instant Salabat of Javier, Leyte, Triple S Choco Moron of Abuyog, Leyte, Capoocan Weavers Association of Capoocan, Leyte and Burauen-Arado Sweet Delicacies Producers Association.

DTI Leyte Provincial Director Ed Belas is encouraging everyone to invite their relatives, friends and businessmen to visit the Bahandi Regional Trade Fair 2015 and buy Leyte-made products during store hours from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Megatrade Hall 2, Fifth Level, Mega B, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
