Tacloban News — In celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month this October, the Department of Trade and Industry Leyte Provincial Office, in coordination with the City Government of Tacloban will be conducting a Diskwento Caravan this October 26-28, 2016 at the City Engineers Office (CEO) Gym, Tacloban City.
Local distributors and entrepreneurs who will be participating in this diskwento caravan include Fast Distribution Corp., Dranix Distribution, River Valley Distribution, R8 Distribution Line, CM Distribution, The Bee Trading, CCT Ventures, RAM Food Products, Virginia Foods, Gardenia Bakeries, Phils., 578 Resources, Unitop Tacloban, United Producers of Tacloban, Leyte Treats and Ethnic Foods and Crafts Association. They will be selling basic necessities and prime commodities, Christmas lights and decorations, Noche Buena products, delicacies, souvenir items and electrical items to consumers at premium offers or discounted prices. Also joining the three-day sale are utility companies such as Globe through their Globe E-Cash and LBC.
The public may also enjoy free services such as massage and haircut, courtesy by the Cristina Learn and Earn Program (CLEP) of Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez of Tacloban City.
“This Diskwento Sale is among the many activities of our office to celebrate this year’s Consumer Welfare Month with the theme: “Consumer Protection: A Shared Responsibility.” It aims to give consumers the best value for their money by providing them quality products at cheaper prices,” says DTI Leyte Consumer Welfare Division Chief Araceli D. Larraga.
The Diskwento Caravan is being done three to four times a year by DTI Leyte in partnership with local distributors, micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and other businesses.
It is open from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
